The DPPH Total Antioxidant Capacity Assay Kit (cat. KF01007-400T) employs the classic DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) free radical scavenging assay to evaluate the total antioxidant capacity of food, plant, and nutraceutical samples.
In the DPPH assay, the stable DPPH• free radical is reduced by antioxidants, resulting in a decrease in absorbance at 515–517 nm. The extent of decolorization reflects the radical scavenging activity (RSA) of the sample. Results are expressed as Trolox equivalents (TE) or as IC50 values.
